This trail is for the beauty, the rushing water, the super rugged terrain and the opportunity to connect with and experience nature. Not the place to go for exercise! It’s too treacherous!
Go here and sit on large rocks on the middle of the river. Go here to get lost in nature!
Breathtaking beauty is here!
Nice trail that's on a boardwalk alongside the river. At the end of the trail is a swimming area. If you have inner tubes you can walk to the right of the boardwalk to a launching area and tube down the river to the swimming area then walk back along the boardwalk. Really nice nature walk.
This hidden gem is perfect for the whole family!
This is a fairly easy 1/2 mile out and 1/2 mile back boarwalk trail. It even has handicap accessible parking for easy access.
You'll walk along the river and take in incredible views on your way to an amazing set of natural pools where you can spend the afternoon lounging in the sun.
Pretty place, I've been visiting it for over twenty five years. Short walk to rapids/waterfall. A pass is needed to use the area. A longer trail goes out through the woods. The handicap walkway is in disrepair and needs replacement, some of the boards are iffy. Lots of people during summer weekends swimming, fishing, sightseeing so parking lot gets full. There are other trails across from the sign on the highway. The gate opposite that sign is often locked. There is a giant hunting field down the road on the left at the T in the road, the road on the right dead ends and you can go down the gated road to the Amicalola or cross the berm and follow that trail. There is not much to see except Amicalola at bottom of hill otherwise you just wander around in the woods or the giant field. There is another waterfall but the trail ends at the top and it is not worth the accident to see it. You can see where people have scrambled down the hill to see it better, causing erosion, so do yourself a favor and don't be rescued on TV.
Great easy trail. Gorgeous views. Astro really enjoyed a whole new experience...her 1st hike.
This place is amazing. Water is always freezing, but it's well worth it to see all the beauty this place has. There are waking trails, swimming holes, water rapids, and little mini waterfalls. It's very relaxing and family oriented place to visit
This place is AMAZING. So much fun with a really easy walk to get to the waterfall. The perfect summer time fun
Awesome hiking trail alongside Chattahoochee River. Well marked with directional signal. Clean.
